Services

Our main services are as follows:

Verbal consultation - consists of an overall assessment of the site and discussion with the client, to discuss the suitability for a backyard vegetable garden. Including discussions on the types of vegetables required and the quantities to service the household. The visit will last for 1 to 1.5 hours and will be strictly verbal.
Written report - consists of a site assessment including slope, aspect and a comprehensive written report including a field assessment of soils and growing notes on all vegetables to be grown and a vegetable garden design, taking into account the volumes and varieties of vegetables required by the household.
Fortnightly garden maintenance service - consisting of weeding, pest control, harvesting produce, compost maintenance and mulching where required.We endeavor to use environmentally friendly organic pest and disease control methods wherever possible.

In addition to these core services, we are also willing to resurrect old garden beds or construct new beds. We are not aligned with any particular style of garden bed so are willing to source and establish the beds that you want. This includes gardens straight into existing soil, timber beds, corrugated iron beds, wine barrel gardens. All these will need to be quoted individually. We can do everything for you, from the construction preparation of the soil planting and ongoing maintenance. It’s totally up to you how much you use our services.

Wine Barrel Gardens

Veg2Table wine barrel gardens use locally sourced oak wine barrels which have been prepared with the following features which will prolong the life of your wine barrel garden:

Internally sealed with two coats of water repellent bitumen paint, which prevents mould and is certified for organic use.
Externally sealed with two coats of quality water based outdoor furniture oil.
Four large drainage holes up to 38mm in diameter.
3 x 40kg rubber caster wheels on the base.

The barrels can be supplied as barrels only, or fully planted with a choice of various fruit or ornamental trees, and a choice of seasonal vegetables, herbs or flowers. Delivery can also be arranged.

Groovy Garden Beds

Just for something a little different; we have a range of corrugated iron vegetable beds, made to not just blend in with the environment, but to stand out. We have a range of powder coated corrugated iron beds they are available in three sizes and a choice of three colours, purple, orange and green.

1m diameter x 0.64m high	$245.00
0.8m diameter x 0.35m high	$175.00
0.8m diameter x 0.27m high	$135.00

If you purchase a trio, (1 of each size in any colour) you can save 10% and pay only $500.

We can also prepare the beds for you by including the soil, compost, fertilizer, mulch and plants; contact us for further information, or to place an order.

Veggie growing short courses

If you are interested in learning more about how to successfully grow your own vegetables, please let me know. We are planning to start running courses in the near future, if we can get enough people interested, 8 to 10 people would be a good starting number.

Courses can be customised to suit your needs and the time you have available, including:

Site selection
Soil preparation
What to plant when and how to plant: including how to rotate crops to avoid disease and pests, and companion planting
How to maintain my vegetable patch
Pest and disease identification and their management
Organic vegetable production
